QQueviny
About Queviny

We got tired of watching good legal teams do bad work.

Not bad because they weren't skilled — bad because keyword checklists and shared drives were asking them to spend their judgment on clause-by-clause comparison instead of the negotiation that actually needed a lawyer.

Queviny started in 2023, after our co-founder Elena spent a decade in contract operations watching the same pattern repeat: a new contract manager joins, gets handed a review process built on a keyword checklist and an inherited shared drive, and spends their first six months doing exactly the kind of mechanical clause comparison a computer should have been doing for years.

The tools that existed treated automation as a binary: either a keyword search flagged a clause, or a human had to read the whole document to find it. Nothing sat in between — nothing learned from the redlines a team made every day, and nothing explained its reasoning well enough for a general counsel to actually trust it with a contract going out under their name.

We built Queviny to sit in that middle space: a system that learns your specific playbook, automates the review that doesn't need judgment, and explains itself clearly enough that the work it doesn't automate gets resolved in minutes instead of hours. We're a small team, based in Germany, building for legal and procurement teams who'd rather trust a system incrementally than take it entirely on faith.

What we optimize for

Explainable, not just accurate

A redline, extraction, or flag that can't be explained in plain language doesn't ship — accuracy without explanation isn't something a legal team can act on.

Automation with an off-ramp

Every automated decision has a visible, adjustable path back to human review. Trust is built incrementally, not assumed on day one.

Built by people who did this job

Every person on the product side has either run contract operations, built document-risk infrastructure, or sat in the redline queue themselves.

Team

EM

Elena Marston

Co-founder & CEO

Ran contract operations at a Berlin logistics scale-up through three funding rounds and two acquisitions. Started Queviny after realizing the clause-by-clause review process she was training new contract managers on hadn't meaningfully changed in a decade.

JR

Jonas Reiter

Co-founder & CTO

Built document-intelligence infrastructure for a compliance-monitoring company before Queviny. Believes a model legal teams can't interrogate is a model legal teams shouldn't trust — that conviction shapes every product decision here.

PC

Priya Chandrasekaran

Head of Product

Spent six years designing enterprise legal-tech workflows and got tired of watching 'automated' review features quietly get switched off by teams who didn't trust them. Owns the line between automation and control in the product.

TV

Tomas Vogel

Head of Customer Success

Was a contract manager for eight years before joining Queviny — now sits on the other side of the redline queue, making sure onboarding reflects how legal teams actually work under deadline.
